HVAC Install Manager
About the Role
We’re seeking a highly organized HVAC Install Manager to oversee installation operations at Akian Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric in Watertown, MA. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will schedule and coordinate jobs, manage subcontractors and vendors, and ensure projects run smoothly.
The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, comfortable with scheduling software, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. Responsibilities
Project Scheduling & Coordination
Collaborate with the sales team and install coordinator to schedule projects that align with company revenue and efficiency goals.
Monitor job progress and adjust schedules as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
Team Leadership & Development
Coach, mentor, and develop lead installers and apprentices.
Conduct ride-alongs, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to company standards and best practices.
Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Operational & Financial Oversight
Review material lists and verify the accuracy of job costing sheets prior to installation.
Track labor hours, materials, and overall job profitability.
Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Customer Service & Quality Assurance
Handle client concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Conduct site visits to confirm quality of work and customer satisfaction.
Ensure installations meet or exceed industry standards and local codes.
Technical Knowledge
Apply expertise in HVAC systems, with an emphasis on ductwork design (preferred but not required).
Assist field teams with troubleshooting installation challenges as needed.
Other Duties as Assigned
Demonstrate flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support company operations and ensure customer satisfaction.
Position Requirements
Must be EPA Certified.
Possess a high school diploma or GED.
A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in the installation of diverse HVAC equipment.
Be organized with a high level of attention to detail and strong follow-through.
Hold a valid driver’s license and be approved to drive by our insurance carrier.
Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and installation manuals.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills with the desire to exceed expectations.
Ability to work outside of scheduled hours as needed.
Ability to effectively lead and support the team in a way that produces positive outcomes.
Physical Requirements
When conducting site visits, you may be required to climb ladders and steep stairs, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, sit, and reach.
Possibility of working in tight spaces such as attics and/or crawl spaces.
