What You'll Do

As a Lead HVAC Installer, you are responsible for delivering exceptional residential HVAC installations while leading your installation team and ensuring every project reflects the Akian standard. Your role combines technical expertise, leadership, customer communication, and attention to detail to ensure every installation is completed safely, efficiently, and correctly the first time.

Installation & Technical Execution

Lead residential installations of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, boilers, air handlers, and indoor air quality equipment.

Verify all installations meet manufacturer specifications, local code requirements, and Akian quality standards.

Complete startup, commissioning, airflow verification, and system performance testing on completed systems.

Perform thorough installation quality checks before leaving every job site.

Leadership & Team Development

Supervise and mentor apprentice and junior installers while promoting continuous learning and accountability.

Lead by example on every job site, demonstrating craftsmanship and holding the team to high operational standards.

Customer Service & Communication

Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the installation process, setting clear expectations and answering questions.

Identify and communicate any unforeseen site conditions or additional work required promptly.

Deliver a 5-star customer experience on every installation, maintaining clean, safe, and professional job sites that protect the customer's home.

Operations & Administration

Coordinate with Install Coordinators, Warehouse, Sales, and Management to ensure smooth project execution.

Maintain accurate installation documentation, photographs, commissioning reports, and warranty registrations.

Ensure company vehicles, tools, inventory, and equipment remain organized, clean, and properly maintained.

What We're Looking For

A minimum of 5+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.

EPA Universal Certification required.

Previous experience leading or mentoring installation teams is preferred.

Strong technical knowledge of gas furnaces, heat pumps, ducted systems, ductless mini-splits, boilers, and indoor air quality products.

Technical Skills & Aptitude

Ability to read installation plans and perform necessary system modifications.

Strong understanding of airflow, duct design, refrigeration practices, electrical components, and commissioning procedures.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in the field.

Professional Requirements

Strong communication and customer service abilities.

Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently while leading others.

Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Work Schedule

Full-time schedule.

Monday through Friday hours with overtime opportunities available.
